How to embed Captivate Flash output in SharePoint

Microsoft SharePoint is gaining popularity for the delivery of eLearning. We recently worked on a project where we needed to embed Flash output from Captivate in a SharePoint page. It took us a bit to track down the exact method of doing this, so I figured I’d share it here for others to reference.

    1. Identify the URL to the SWF file and copy it
    2. Create/Edit a page to embed the file
    3. Add the Content Editor webpart to the page
    4. Edit the HTML code of the webpart and copy paste the embed code (provided below)
    5. In the embed code, adjust the object width and height
    6. In the embed code, replace URL HERE with the URL for the SWF file
    7. Save the webpart
    8. Save the page
Embed Code
<object width=”800″ height=”600″><param name=”movie” value=”URL HERE”></param><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”></param><param name=”allowscriptaccess” value=”always”></param><embed src=”URL HERE” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowscriptaccess=”always” allowfullscreen=”true” width=”800″ height=”600″></embed></object>
